POSITION SUMMARY
Our local bakery is currently hiring a dough laminator/ assistant Pastry Chef! Candidates should have experience in a similar role, and be able to perform efficiently, accurately, and independently, while paying close attention to detail. Compensation will be based on these performance metrics and experience. Candidates should possess the ability and desire to take initiative and hold a strong work ethic. We encourage creativity and a passion for your craft. Experience working on a dough sheeter is required. Our bakery is located in Longmont, CO and specializes in classic French pastries, breads and cookies. Our products have been enjoyed in Boulder County for more than 30 years.
Bakery Operation Responsibilities:
The Pastry Chef will be responsible for mixing batters and doughs, preparing fillings, baking production, maintaining operational efficiency, cleanliness, sanitation safety and quality results.
Technical skills:
A solid understanding of baking techniques, familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment, and the ability to follow recipes accurately are essential.
Baking and finishing:
Monitoring baking times and making sure the breads and cookies are baked to perfection.
  • Part-time position available.
Compensation:
$19-$24 per hour, based on performance + experience.
    Bonuses:
    may qualify after 90 day trial period.
    • Executes food safety and sanitation practices in alignment with Health Guidelines.
    • Oversees the proper storage and use of perishables.
    • Monitors and communicates inventory needs.
    • Experience in executing bakery operations with emphasis on product quality, consistency and presentation.
    Skills and Abilities:
    • High level of experience in pastry production is desirable. Ideal candidate will have a minimum 2 years relative experience at a commercial bakery and must have qualified references to verify experience.
    • Must possess skills that include: working independently at times, the desire to learn new ways of doing things if it means being more efficient and effective, comfortable asking questions, possess a positive attitude, being a critical thinker and can take initiative to ensure that the job is done correctly.
    • Experience laminating dough on a sheeter is required.
    • Able to conduct multiplication math skills accurately (head math) for measurements, counting, conversions, etc.
    • Able to solve production-related issues.
    • Reliable and punctual is a must.
    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time and able to lift 50 lbs.
    • Weekday shifts and Sunday mornings available.
    • Computer skills: Excel, Word, and email are a plus.
