Part-Time Job Summary:
Being an ambassador for our restaurant brand by playing a key role in contributing to the smooth operation of the kitchen during service and ultimately meeting our customers' expectations and satisfaction. Prep and prepare quality ingredients that meet the Executive Chef's specifications and assisting the Executive Chef and Sous Chef. Set up stations for menu, Responsible for pantry station inventory and maintaining sanitation standards.Job Description Functions and Competencies:
- Set up and stocking pantry station with all necessary supplies.
- Prepare food for service; cleaning and chopping ingredients, and/or preparing sauces as directed.
- Preparing food including salads, soups, appetizers, and desserts, to restaurant's menu specifications.
- Plating dishes according to a restaurant's menu specifications. Answer, report and follow executive or sous chef's instructions.
- Working with servers to ensure that food orders come out simultaneously, in high quality, are completed according to request and in a timely fashion.
- Excellent understanding of various kitchen methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.
- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards. Ensure kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and all regulations followed. Stock inventory and supplies.
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks.
- Washing, cleaning, sanitizing the kitchen, cooking utensils and proper storage of the equipment Clean station and appropriately store and/or dispose of leftover food according to the restaurant's standards.
- Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team. Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
- Ability to work under pressure.
Education and Training Preferred:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field
- Culinary school diploma
- Knowledge of food industry's best practices and safety standards
- Previous restaurant experience
