Located in a coastal tourism market with dramatic seasonal shifts, Milestone Mystic operates within a hyper-seasonal environment where summer volume, local loyalty, tourism traffic, and community presence all play a major role in the rhythm of the business. The kitchen must be able to execute consistently through both high-volume peak seasons and quieter local-driven periods, while maintaining quality, warmth, and operational discipline year-round. Position Overview The Sous Chef will support all BOH operations including service execution, prep systems, staff training, ordering, and daily leadership alongside the Head Chef. This role is highly hands-on and ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments and enjoys building strong systems and team culture. Responsibilities Support daily kitchen operations and lead service execution Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training BOH staff Maintain prep systems, pars, cleanliness, and food safety standards Support inventory management and ordering Ensure consistency in food quality and presentation Step into leadership responsibilities during service and chef absence Foster a collaborative, respectful kitchen culture Qualifications 2+ years in a Sous Chef or kitchen leadership role Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to lead calmly during high-volume service Experience in restaurant openings preferred Passion for hospitality and team development
