This is a leadership role suited for someone with a strong foundation in pastry production, a creative eye, and the ability to lead a small, focused team in a high-performance environment. About the Role As the Pastry Sous Chef, you will be responsible for: Overseeing all aspects of pastry production for restaurant service and private events Working hands-on during service, as well as leading the production and prep Managing a small team of pastry cooks: training, scheduling, and maintaining performance Ensuring consistency, quality, and creativity in all pastry and baking output Upholding food safety and sanitation standards across the pastry department Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Has 1-3 years' experience as a Pastry Sous Chef or pastry cook Is well-versed in both pastry and bread production, with strong technical knowledge Demonstrates leadership skills with the ability to train, inspire, and manage a team Thrives in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining quality and consistency Brings creativity and artistry to baking and dessert plating Understands and enforces sanitation and food safety standards About La Plage La Plage is a refined, coastal-inspired restaurant in Westport, CT, showcasing seasonal ingredients, French and Mediterranean influences, and warm, attentive service.
