Fraternity Chef at The University of Florida Fraternity Management Gainesville, FL Job Details Full-time $900 - $1,100 a week 5 hours ago Qualifications Hospitality Food management Food industry Food safety Kitchen experience Full Job Description Chef needed for a Fraternity House on the University of Florida campus. Experienced chefs apply only please. Position is open for the Fall 2026/Spring 2027 semesters and would begin in August of 2026.
Detailed description below:
1. Responsible for preparation of all meals from start to finish; lunch, Monday through Friday and dinner, Monday through Thursday, including the preparation of a "salad bar" each day for lunch, and placing out the food for lunch. No pre-made foods will be accepted. All cooking must be from scratch. 2. Responsible for planning the menu weekly and determining appropriate/required quantities of food that will be needed on a weekly basis, to be ordered by the chef, based on the menus he/she prepares with suggestions from the fraternity members. Creative menu planning is ideal. Flexibility of menus is a must. 3. The chef will be given a budget at the beginning of each semester and it is his/her responsibility to stay within said budget. This is VERY important. An economic chef is a requirement! 4. Maintain all kitchen equipment in clean, working order, and advise manager if any equipment requires parts and/or repairs. 5. Chef is responsible for working together in order to coordinate early and late meals caused by outside activities (announcing, date functions etc.). 6. This is a very autonomous position. Chef will work alone and be solely responsible for the meals. Chef must be hard working. Compensation for the position will based on experience. Hours of employment are Monday - Friday 8:00 am to 6:15 pm, Lunch break can vary and may last as long as 2 hours. Please reply with your resume along with any references.
