Job Description
OVERVIEW
The Executive Chef will lead our Culinary Team and oversee daily kitchen operations. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring food quality, managing staff, controlling inventory, and maintaining a safe and efficient kitchen environment. This position will be for a brand new, upscale restaurant in West Palm Beach, FL. The parent company does over $1.6 Billion in Sales throughout North America. There will be some overnight travel involved with helping other locations. We have an excellent Quality of Life program as we close at 9pm or 10pm depending upon the season and hold steady to our 5 day work week commitment. Plus, the Executive Chef participates in a Monthly Bonus Program that equates to an actual % of Profits. The ideal Executive Chef candidate is passionate about food, has strong leadership skills, and thrives in a fast-paced hospitality setting. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional dining experiences while supporting team development and operational excellence. DUTIES Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to meet quality standards. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies, stock rotation, and minimizing waste to optimize food costs. Supervise kitchen staff by providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high standards of food safety and service. Coordinate with front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service flow during busy periods and special events like banquets or catering. Maintain compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and safety protocols. Utilize POS systems. Conduct profit and loss analysis to monitor financial performance and implement strategies for cost control and revenue growth.EXPERIENCE
Proven Kitchen Management experience in a food service or hospitality environment, ideally within a casual dining restaurant company. Extensive background in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen management. Prior experience supervising staff, conducting training sessions, and managing team performance. Knowledge of food safety standards and food industry regulations. Experience with inventory control, budgeting, and profit & loss analysis in a restaurant setting. Strong communication skills with the ability to lead teams effectively and handle customer service issues professionally.
