As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and uphold our restaurant's standards of excellence. Your expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and presentation will contribute to creating an authentic and memorable dining experience. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a dynamic environment dedicated to Japanese cuisine. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used efficiently to minimize waste Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the sushi preparation area at all times Follow recipes, plating techniques, and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and visual appeal Collaborate with the kitchen team to manage orders efficiently during busy service hours Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and communicate needs for restocking Uphold food safety regulations and proper handling procedures in accordance with health codes Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation and Japanese culinary techniques Strong knife skills with the ability to create precise cuts and presentations Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail for ingredient quality, presentation, and portion control Creative flair for plating and visual presentation of dishes Familiarity with kitchen equipment such as sushi knives, rice cookers, and refrigeration units This position is ideal for a motivated culinary professional eager to refine their craft while delivering exceptional dining experiences.
