The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of sushi preparation, food safety, and fine dining standards. This role requires creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests while ensuring adherence to food safety regulations. Responsibilities Prepare and present sushi dishes in accordance with restaurant standards. Utilize knife skills to slice fish and vegetables with precision for sushi rolls and sashimi. Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations. Collaborate with the kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal offerings. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station and kitchen area. Monitor inventory levels of sushi ingredients and assist in ordering supplies as needed. Provide exceptional service by engaging with guests about menu items and dietary preferences. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar culinary role within the food industry. Fine dining experience is preferred, with an emphasis on high-quality food preparation. Familiarity with dietary department practices or dietary aide experience is a plus. Strong background in menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures. Previous restaurant experience is essential, along with demonstrated kitchen experience. Excellent knife skills and a passion for creating visually appealing dishes are required.
