Full Job Description Overview:
Fuego Kitchen ATL is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Lead Sushi Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in preparing authentic sushi and Japanese cuisine, demonstrating precision, creativity, and dedication to culinary excellence. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality sushi dishes, maintaining impeccable presentation standards, and ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment. Your expertise will contribute to delivering an exceptional dining experience for our guests while upholding the integrity of traditional sushi techniques.Hours:
Full-time Sunday -Thursday:
10AM-7PM Friday:
10AM-3PM In-Person interview & skills test. Responsibilities Prepare and assemble a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry. Develop innovative sushi recipes that meet quality standards and appeal to diverse customer preferences. Maintain strict adherence to food safety and sanitation regulations in all aspects of food preparation. Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste through effective stock control. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods. Uphold high standards of cleanliness and organization within the sushi station at all times. Assist in training junior staff members on proper sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards. Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a professional kitchen specializing in Japanese cuisine. Strong knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and ingredient handling. Familiarity with culinary principles related to seafood safety, storage, and hygiene practices. Ability to develop new recipes while maintaining authenticity and quality standards. Excellent attention to detail with an eye for presentation and aesthetics. Effective communication skills to work collaboratively within a diverse team environment. Experience working in fast-paced restaurant settings with high-volume service demands. Knowledge of food safety regulations and certification in food handling is preferred.
