Job Description

Overview Southern Cross Hospitality is a fast-growing restaurant group seeking talented chefs across several locations. We currently have eight unique restaurants in our portfolio- The Collins Quarter The Collins Quarter at Forsyth Park Fishbar The Fitzroy Ukiyo The Deck Doki Doki La Vetta (opening soon) We are currently looking for talented, well-rounded chefs at the Chef de Cuisine and Executive Chef level. Some attributes we look for are culinary talent and vision, thoughtfulness in menu engineering, ability to understand and control costs, and an effective style of leadership and mentorship.   • Lead concept development: seasonal menus, signature dishes, and daily specials that wow guests
  • Menu engineering and costing: optimize profitability without sacrificing soul
  • Maintain highest standards of food safety and quality control
  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performance culinary team; foster a diverse, inclusive kitchen culture
  • Collaborate with front-of-house to ensure seamless guest experiences
  • Manage inventory, vendor relationships, and kitchen operations with finesse
  • Innovate guest experiences: pop-ups, special events, and off-menu experiences to keep the buzz alive Requirements
  • Proven track record as a CDC/Executive chef or similar leadership role in high-energy kitchens
  • Strong menu development, costing, and P&L sensibilities
  • Exceptional culinary technique across multiple cuisines with a distinctive point of view
  • Comfortable leading a team, open to feedback, and magnetic in performance under pressure
  • Passion for hospitality, creativity, and a resilient, positive attitude
  • Availability for a fast-paced schedule, including nights, weekends, and seasonal events
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience preferred What We Offer

Compensation Details Compensation:
Salary ($75,000.00 - $90,000.00)
