Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Sous Chef / Prep Cook / Kitchen Assistant to join our vibrant culinary team! In this energetic role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen by assisting with food preparation, maintaining safety standards, and supporting the culinary staff. Responsibilities Assist in preparing ingredients and assembling dishes according to established recipes and menu specifications Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, slicers, mixers, and cooking appliances Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene by following proper handling procedures and cleaning protocols Support the culinary team with meal preparation, portioning, and plating to ensure timely service Collaborate with kitchen staff to communicate effectively about orders, special dietary needs, and prep tasks Help with cleaning duties such as sanitizing workstations, utensils, and equipment at the end of shifts Follow safety standards in production areas to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment Requirements Previous experience in food service, dietary department, or restaurant environments is highly preferred Knowledge of food handling safety standards and proper sanitation practices Strong knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques and ingredient preparation Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal assembly Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and effectively Excellent communication skills for coordinating with kitchen staff and team members Familiarity with dietary aide responsibilities or dietary department experience is a plus A proactive attitude with a passion for culinary arts and food industry standards Join us in creating memorable dining experiences!
