Job Description
Lead a Truly Farm-to-Table Culinary Experience Do you have a passion for creating exceptional cuisine using sustainably grown, fresh ingredients? Oʻo Farm is seeking an experienced Executive Chef / Culinary Manager to lead our unique farm-to-table culinary program in beautiful Upcountry Maui. Oʻo Farm is a diverse, sustainably managed farm dedicated to agriculture, education, and agritourism. With more than 100 varieties of vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, and coffee grown on the farm, our chefs have the rare opportunity to create seasonal menus inspired by ingredients harvested just steps from the kitchen. Every weekday we welcome guests from around the world to experience two signature culinary tours, with up to 30 guests on each tour: Breakfast & Coffee Tour featuring a gourmet farm breakfast Farm-to-Table Lunch Tour featuring a seasonal lunch prepared with ingredients harvested that day Beyond serving exceptional meals, our guests learn about coffee production, regenerative agriculture, native Hawaiian plants, beneficial insects, crop diversity, and our commitment to caring for the ʻāina. Position Summary The Executive Chef is responsible for leading all culinary operations while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hospitality, organization, and teamwork. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines creative menu development, kitchen management, staff mentorship, and collaboration with the farm team to showcase the very best seasonal ingredients. This role is ideal for someone looking to step away from the traditional restaurant environment and become part of an organization where sustainability, education, and hospitality come together.
Responsibilities:
- Lead kitchen operations and ensure high-quality food preparation
- Plan and create innovative menus featuring our farm ingredients
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and sanitation standards
- Collaborate with our farmers to develop strategies for improving menu creation efficiency
Requirements:
- Proven experience in culinary arts, including hospitality, banquet, and restaurant management
- Strong knowledge of food service
- Proficiency in culinary techniques and food safety practices
- Excellent communication
- Ability to work well with others.
