ABOUT THE PONDEROSA ESTATE
The Ponderosa Estate is a newly constructed, 16-bed private-pay luxury residential assisted living home located in Eagle, Idaho. We are committed to providing an exceptional, home-like environment where every resident is treated with dignity, warmth, and personalized care. Our team is small, close-knit, and passionate about raising the standard for senior living.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for a skilled, creative, and compassionate Private Chef to join our team. You will be the culinary heart of our community: responsible for planning, shopping, and preparing fresh, from-scratch meals for up to 16 residents daily, as well as staff meals and occasional guest dining with advance notice. This is not institutional cooking. We hold ourselves to a hospitality standard that reflects the luxury setting our residents call home.
Schedule:
Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday (your preference). You will prepare and label make-ahead components so the kitchen is never left without fresh, quality food on your days off.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan weekly menus in collaboration with residents, families, and the care team — tailored to individual tastes, preferences, and dietary needs Prepare three scratch-made meals and snacks daily for up to 16 residents, plus staff meals and occasional guest meals with advance notice Complete a minimum of two fresh grocery runs per week, staying within the approved food budget Prepare and label make-ahead components, sauces, stocks, and meal preps to ensure seamless coverage for off days Accommodate a variety of dietary needs including low-sodium, diabetic, texture-modified, pureed, and allergy-specific diets Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen in compliance with Idaho food safety standards Document resident food preferences, allergies, and physician-ordered dietary restrictions Coordinate with nursing and care staff regarding changes in resident appetite or nutritional status Create seasonal menus and elevated dining experiences for holidays and special occasions Manage kitchen inventory, minimize waste, and track food costs against budget Maintain a current Idaho Food Handler Permit
COMPENSATION & PERKS
$22.00 per hour Holiday pay at 1.5x rate 10 days of paid time off and 5 sick days per year accrued each pay period beginning day one of employment. Mileage reimbursement for all grocery shopping runs Grocery budget fully provided — no out-of-pocket expenses Choice of Tuesday-Saturday or Wednesday-Sunday schedule Stable, consistent hours in a supportive team environment Work in a brand-new, beautifully appointed kitchen inside a luxury boutique residence
