This is not a traditional chef position. We are seeking a culinary leader who is excited to build a restaurant from the ground up and play a key role in shaping the kitchen operation before opening day. We have a strong concept, brand vision, and menu direction already in place. We are looking for an experienced chef who can elevate and refine our ideas, create systems for execution, build and lead the kitchen team, and help ensure a successful launch. Responsibilities Menu Development & Culinary Leadership Refine and develop menu concepts Standardize recipes and portioning Create prep procedures and kitchen systems Conduct recipe testing and menu costing Ensure consistent food quality and presentation Restaurant Opening & Operations Assist with kitchen setup and workflow design Help evaluate equipment, vendors, and product sourcing Establish food safety, inventory, and operational systems Create opening timelines and training programs Support a successful restaurant launch Team Building Recruit, hire, and train kitchen staff Help select and onboard a Sous Chef and key team members Build a positive, accountable kitchen culture Lead and develop the culinary team Financial & Operational Management Manage food costs and labor costs Develop ordering and inventory procedures Maintain quality while supporting profitability Qualifications Executive Chef, Chef de Cuisine, or senior kitchen leadership experience Experience opening or helping launch restaurants strongly preferred Strong background in brunch, café, upscale casual, or hospitality concepts Experience with menu development and food costing Proven ability to build and lead teams Strong organizational and communication skills Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is both a talented chef and a builder.
