  • Full-time Foodstuffs has been exceeding our guests expectations for over 40 years.
Our Events & Catering department offers full-service event planning, catering, corporate drop-off, trade show concessions & events as well as contract dining. Our Retail stores have been leaders in the industry since their inception in 1979. Our team is our highest priority, we strive to create a challenging yet comfortable environment taking all ideas into consideration for team and company growth. We are looking for an experienced Executive Chef to join our team of chefs cooking for our four Gourmet Retail Stores & busy full-service off-premise Catering division! You will work in many different roles to effectively respond to unexpected variables. The prepared foods division of our retail stores is consistent, however, Retail special orders, Catering corporate-drop off orders, social events, trade show concessions and contract dining clients are inconsistent and the execution and style can change daily. This is a daytime position, beginning as early as 4 am, however daily flexibility is required.
Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day culinary operations Coordinate food and kitchenware orders Develop menu items including hors d'oeuvres, stations & plated meals for our Catering division Standardize recipes for both our retail store and catering division Responsible for the selection, development and discipline of all staff within the department Coordinate chefs, cooks and all staff to ensure the highest quality menu production Maintain food & labor costs using implemented systems Monitor all food preparation & presentation to meet and/or exceed company standards Assumes 100% responsibility for quality of products served
Qualifications:
Degree in Culinary Arts or at least three years' Executive Chef experience Knowledge of food cost, ordering, receiving, inventory and labor systems Passion for food and cooking techniques Able to teach & mentor staff, leading by example Strong leadership qualities Culinary menu & recipe development Able to order, receive, hire, train and direct your team Attention to detail with accuracy and thoroughness Ability to work flexible hours, beginning at 4 am
