Your expertise in sushi preparation, attention to detail, and commitment to quality will be essential in creating a memorable culinary journey. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a dynamic environment dedicated to excellence and creativity. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry. Maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and hygiene in all kitchen areas. Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep menus fresh and exciting. Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies. Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure timely service and consistent quality across all dishes. Educate junior staff on sushi techniques, presentation styles, and safety protocols. Uphold restaurant standards by monitoring portion control, plating aesthetics, and customer preferences. Skills Extensive experience in sushi preparation and Japanese cuisine. Strong knowledge of seafood handling, knife skills, and traditional sushi techniques. Ability to develop creative menu items through innovative presentation and flavor combinations. Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or conducting culinary workshops. Familiarity with food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and inventory management. Experience working with children or youth programs is a plus for engaging diverse audiences or teaching culinary classes. Proficiency in lesson planning for culinary arts or related creative arts instruction. Background in culinary arts education or specialized training in Asian cuisine is highly desirable.
