Job Description
The Ocean House is looking for a PM pastry-focused team member to support our plated dessert program during dinner service. This is a service-driven pastry role, focused on executing beautiful, consistent dessert presentations in a high-volume upscale dining environment. The right person will work closely with our pastry chef and culinary leadership to prepare, organize, plate, and send desserts with precision, speed, cleanliness, and pride. This is a great fit for someone with pastry experience, a culinary background, or simply a highly detail-oriented hospitality professional who enjoys clean, organized, careful work. A trained pastry cook would be ideal, but we are also open to the right person with strong work ethic, steady hands, and a serious eye for detail.
About the Role You will:
Plate and execute dessert items during nightly dinner service Work directly with the pastry chef to understand presentation standards and station setup Maintain consistency, timing, and cleanliness throughout service Keep the dessert station organized, stocked, and ready for volume Communicate clearly with executive culinary, service team, and management Support a growing pastry program connected to our fine dining restaurant, hotel, coffee shop, and seasonal operations This is not a heavy sauté or fryer station. It is a precise, clean, presentation-focused role that still requires urgency, stamina, and strong service instincts. What We're Looking For The strongest candidates may have: Pastry, baking, dessert plating, or culinary experience High-volume restaurant, café, bakery, or coffee shop experience Strong attention to detail and pride in presentation Clean, organized, fastidious work habits The ability to stay calm and focused during a busy dinner rush Dependability, professionalism, and a team-first attitude Night, weekend, and holiday availability Formal pastry training is a plus, but not required for the right person. A strong cook looking for a cleaner, more precise station — or a highly capable barista/café professional with excellent systems and standards — could be a great fit.
