Job Description

TST Creative Catering & Events is seeking an experienced and dependable Catering Lead Cook/Sous Chef to help manage daily kitchen production and execute exceptional catered events. This position is ideal for a skilled culinary professional who is organized, works well under deadlines, and takes pride in consistency, food safety, teamwork, and presentation. This is a hands-on position that includes food preparation, batch cooking, kitchen organization, production leadership, and occasional off-site event execution. Primary Responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to TST recipes, production sheets, portion standards, and presentation guidelines. Organize daily catering production and ensure orders are completed accurately and on time. Guide prep cooks and other kitchen employees during production. Maintain consistent food quality, flavor, appearance, and portioning. Follow proper food-safety procedures, including temperature control, cooling, reheating, labeling, sanitation, and FIFO rotation. Assist with receiving, inventory counts, ordering, and minimizing food waste. Prepare, organize, and pack food and equipment for catered events. Maintain a clean, safe, and professional kitchen. Communicate production needs, shortages, and concerns to management. Assist with catered events, delivery, setup, and service when needed. Qualifications Previous professional cooking experience required. Catering, banquet, or high-volume production experience strongly preferred. Previous kitchen leadership experience preferred. Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation. Ability to follow and scale recipes accurately. Excellent organization, communication, and time-management skills. Ability to remain calm and productive in a fast-paced environment. ServSafe certification preferred or willingness to obtain it. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation, if required. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds. Schedule Catering schedules vary according to event needs. Candidates must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and some holidays.
Pay:
$19.00 - $22.00 per hour
