Executive Chef Position Overview:
Millwood Golf & Racquet Club is seeking a motivated and experienced Sous Chef to assist in leading our culinary team. The Sous Chef plays a key role in daily kitchen operations, ensuring high-quality food preparation for our members and guests across restaurant service, golf tournaments, and private events. This position supports the Executive Chef in maintaining high culinary standards, managing kitchen staff, and ensuring a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment.Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations.
- Supervise and support line cooks, prep cooks, and kitchen staff.
- Ensure consistent preparation and presentation of menu items according to club standards.
- Maintain high standards of food quality, safety, and sanitation.
- Help coordinate food production for restaurant service, golf events, and private banquets.
- Assist with menu development, daily specials, and seasonal offerings.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering and receiving products.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff to ensure efficient and professional operations.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen in compliance with health department regulations.
- Step into leadership role in the absence of the Executive Chef.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of kitchen leadership experience
- Knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety, and kitchen operations.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with banquet or event service is a plus.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by club events.
- CSC or CCC preferred
