Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be the creative force behind our sushi offerings, delivering exceptional quality and presentation that delights our guests. Your expertise in Japanese cuisine, combined with your leadership skills, will ensure the smooth operation of the sushi station and uphold the highest standards of food safety and hygiene. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary artistry in a vibrant, fast-paced environment dedicated to fine dining excellence. Responsibilities Prepare and craft a variety of sushi dishes with precision, creativity, and consistency, ensuring each plate meets our high standards for quality and presentation Oversee daily kitchen operations related to sushi production, including ingredient preparation, portioning, and plating Manage inventory control for sushi ingredients, ensuring freshness and minimizing waste through effective stock management Supervise kitchen staff working at the sushi station, providing guidance on food preparation techniques and maintaining a collaborative team environment Maintain strict adherence to food safety regulations and sanitation standards to ensure a safe dining experience for guests Collaborate with the menu planning team to develop innovative sushi offerings that align with current culinary trends and customer preferences Assist in training new team members on sushi preparation, food handling, and service protocols Support catering events and banquet functions by preparing high-quality sushi dishes that impress large groups Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fine dining or Japanese cuisine restaurant environment Demonstrated expertise in food production, kitchen management, and food service management practices Strong background in supervising teams, with leadership skills that motivate staff toward excellence Experience with inventory management, food safety protocols, and dietary considerations within the food industry Familiarity with banquet and catering operations is preferred Previous restaurant management or shift management experience is advantageous Knowledge of menu planning, food handling procedures, and culinary techniques specific to sushi preparation Join us to elevate the art of sushi making while delivering memorable dining experiences!
