Job Description

Summary We are seeking a Sous Chef to help lead the culinary team behind our immersive, rotating tasting-menu experience. This role supports our Culinary Director in daily execution, menu development, prep systems, service leadership, ordering, organization, and sanitation. The ideal candidate is technically skilled, highly organized, creatively curious, calm under pressure, and excited to work in a restaurant where food, art, music, storytelling, hospitality, and sustainability intersect. This person should be both a strong cook and a strong leader: someone who can execute at a high level, teach others, communicate clearly, and help protect the culture and standards of Counter-. Duties Execute dishes with precision, consistency, and attention to detail Lead prep and service while maintaining organization, cleanliness, and pacing. Train and support cooks on recipes, techniques, plating, and standards. Assist with menu development, testing, documentation, and refinement. Maintain accurate prep lists, par levels, station guides, and production systems. Support ordering, receiving, inventory, product rotation, and waste reduction. Uphold food safety, sanitation, labeling, and allergen standards. Collaborate with the front-of-house and beverage teams to support a seamless guest experience. Represent Counter-'s culture through calm leadership, curiosity, accountability, and hospitality.
