Opportunity The Deli Manager is responsible for effective overall operation of the Deli Department to achieve sales and profit goals established for the department.
Key Responsibilites Greet customers within 10 feet and respond to questions promptly. Provide accurate product information and recommendations. Create weekly schedules to ensure department coverage. Train staff on store procedures and operational standards. Manage inventory for freshness, quality, and proper stock levels while minimizing waste. Verify deliveries against invoices for accuracy and condition, submit required reports and maintain accurate records. Ensure correct pricing based on margin guidelines and department goals. Record price changes, in-store usage, voids, refunds, and spoilage per policy. Develop merchandising plans with the Store Manager and set department goals. Stock and rotate products following approved procedures for quality and compliance. Monitor product temperatures and adhere to health codes. Maintain clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing displays. Communicate effectively with management, associates, and customers. Handle damaged or spoiled goods according to company policy. Monitor the area for hazards and maintain a safe environment. Adhere to scheduled hours and store rules. Perform additional duties as assigned. Requirements Exceptional customer service skills. Previous supervisory experience is preferred. Previous deli experience is preferred. SERV Safe Certification is preferred. Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing needs especially during times of high volume and/or stress. Must be able to read and do simple math problems. Wants to be part of a team in a fast-paced environment. 18 years of age or older.
