Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. In this vital leadership role, you will assist the Executive Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and presentation. Your passion for culinary excellence and team management will help create a lively, efficient, and welcoming environment that delights our guests. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary skills while leading a talented team in a fast-paced, fine dining setting. Duties Support the Executive Chef in managing all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and quality. Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance on food production, food safety protocols, and service standards. Oversee inventory control and food management processes to minimize waste and optimize stock levels for all kitchen supplies. Assist with menu planning and development, incorporating dietary considerations and seasonal ingredients to keep offerings innovative and appealing. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation practices, and allergen management. Coordinate catering events and banquet services, ensuring timely preparation and flawless execution of large-scale meals. Manage shift schedules, monitor labor costs, and support training initiatives to foster a motivated and skilled culinary team. Experience Proven experience in fine dining environments with a strong background in food production and kitchen management. Demonstrated supervisory experience supervising culinary teams in fast-paced settings such as restaurants or catering operations. Extensive banquet experience with knowledge of large-scale food service logistics. Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary restrictions to accommodate diverse guest needs. Strong background in inventory management, food safety standards, and food handling procedures within the hospitality or food industry. Previous roles involving menu planning, catering coordination, and restaurant experience are highly desirable. Leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, manage shifts effectively, and uphold high standards of service excellence.
