Job Overview We are excited to welcome a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic sushi and Japanese dishes with precision, creativity, and attention to detail. You'll play a key part in delivering an exceptional dining experience by crafting beautiful, delicious sushi that delights our guests. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about Japanese cuisine, experienced in sushi preparation, and eager to bring their culinary artistry to a dynamic restaurant environment. Responsibilities Prepare a variety of sushi and sashimi using traditional techniques and high-quality ingredients. Create visually appealing sushi presentations that meet our standards for freshness and artistry. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station, adhering to strict food safety guidelines. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders during busy service hours. Assist in developing new sushi recipes and menu items that reflect current culinary trends. Manage inventory of seafood, rice, nori, and other ingredients, ensuring proper storage and rotation. Uphold all health regulations and safety procedures to provide a safe working environment. Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in Japanese cuisine or fine dining establishments. Strong skills in sushi rolling, knife techniques, and seafood preparation. Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling of raw fish and seafood products. Experience working in fast-paced kitchen environments with high-volume service. Ability to work collaboratively with team members across kitchen stations. Familiarity with menu development, including creating innovative sushi options.
