Job Description

The Stirling Hotel, despite its name, is not an actual hotel. It is a high volume restaurant that has been around for over 40 years serving comfort food, classic dishes, and seasonal chef-inspired creations. We also have a separate barbecue menu and concept in our backyard area that we call 'The Smokehouse'. We are looking for a new chef de cuisine to join our team.
The ideal candidate will:
Hold the standard set by the chef and owners Be able to delegate to the prep cooks, line cooks, and dishwashers appropriately Have a passion towards food and cooking Have a desire to learn and teach others Work clean and organized Stay calm and relaxed under the daily pressures of the kitchen Leave their ego at the door and work as a team player Treat everyone with respect and kindness Responsibilities will include, but are not limited too: Accurately placing orders when necessary Preparing items for the menu, specials, parties, and events Keeping a fresh rotation of specials that fit our style Ensure that all items are prepped in time for service Menu planning and food waste management Hiring, scheduling, and training kitchen staff members while maintaining a sustainable labor cost Being able to work all stations and jumping in when and where needed Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchens and walk-in refrigerators Previous kitchen management experience is required, preferably at a high volume and/or American comfort food restaurant. Speaking Spanish is a plus, but not required. On top of the negotiated salary, there are also quarterly performance based bonuses.
