  • Full-time The Cambridge Club of Aberdeen is seeking an experienced, dependable, and motivated Sous Chef to support the daily operations of our kitchen within a private, family-oriented social club environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role for a culinary professional who takes pride in execution, organization, consistency, and teamwork. The ideal candidate leads by example, works confidently on the line, supports the Executive Chef, and helps maintain a kitchen culture built on professionalism, cleanliness, and high standards.

We are looking for someone who thrives in both à la carte dining and banquet-style service and understands the importance of delivering an elevated member experience with every plate that leaves the kitchen.
Responsibilities:
  • Support the Executive Chef with daily kitchen operations and service execution
  • Prepare and oversee food according to club standards for quality, consistency, timing, and presentation
  • Work confidently and efficiently on the line during service periods
  • Help lead, train, motivate, and support kitchen staff
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and service-ready kitchen environment
  • Assist with prep, inventory, ordering, food rotation, and waste control
  • Support regular dining service, member events, banquets, seasonal programming, and private functions
  • Ensure all food handling, sanitation, safety, and storage standards are properly maintained
  • Step into a leadership role when needed and help maintain strong communication within the kitchen team
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of two years of current Sous Chef experience in a professional kitchen environment
  • Strong line experience and the ability to work efficiently during high-volume service
  • Experience with banquet service, private events, or club dining preferred
  • Strong understanding of kitchen operations, organization, timing, and food quality standards
  • Ability to lead calmly and professionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Current ServSafe Certification required
