Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Private Chef to join our working ranch in New Mexico. This is a live-in position for a self-sufficient, talented cook who thrives in a rural setting and takes pride in feeding people well.
CUISINE EXPERTISE REQUIRED
Chinese/Asian cuisine — authentic techniques, from scratch Tex-Mex and New Mexico regional cooking, including green chile Game meat preparation — venison, elk, wild boar, and similar Wood fire and open flame cooking Scratch baking and bread making Charcuterie, butchery, and whole-animal utilization Smoking, curing, pickling, and preservation
RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare daily meals for household, guests and ranch staff Cook for ranch gatherings and guest entertainment Manage kitchen inventory, meal planning, and grocery budgeting Source ingredients locally when possible, utilize ranch-raised ingredients Maintain a clean, organized kitchen and meet food safety standards Accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years professional cooking experience (private household, estate, or restaurant) Culinary school training preferred but not required Experience in remote or ranch settings a strong plus ServSafe or equivalent food safety certification Valid driver's license required Must be comfortable living and working in a rural environment
