Job Description

Chef / Kitchen Director - Orova Café & Wine Bar Orova is an upscale café & wine bar opening in the West Village, focused on elevated hospitality, refined small plates, charcuterie boards, tapas, desserts, and wine-friendly cuisine. We are looking for a creative, organized, and leadership-driven Chef / Kitchen Director to fully oversee and lead our kitchen operation. This is a great opportunity for a chef who wants creative freedom and the ability to build a kitchen program from the ground up. Our kitchen operates without a hood system and uses induction cooking only, so we are specifically seeking someone experienced in creating high-quality food within a modern hoodless kitchen environment.
Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the kitchen operation daily Create and execute seasonal menus and specials Develop tapas, charcuterie boards, desserts, and small plates Maintain food quality, presentation, cleanliness, and consistency Oversee prep, inventory, ordering, and kitchen organization Ensure DOH compliance and efficient service standards
Qualifications:
Experience in upscale cafés, wine bars, boutique restaurants, or hospitality-driven concepts Strong knowledge of tapas, small plates, and wine-friendly cuisine Organized, professional, and self-motivated Strong leadership and communication skills Ability to thrive in a compact induction-based kitchen We are looking for someone with creativity, professionalism, and an ownership mentality who wants to grow with a long-term hospitality concept.
