Manhattan (Seaport District)
Compensation :
$70,000-$80,000/year (based on experience) | Full-Time |
PM & Weekend Availability Required Experience Required :
1-3 years in a Sous Chef role The Paris Cafe in the Seaport District is building a strong, tight-knit kitchen team. We're looking for a Sous Chef comfortable leading from the line and helping to drive focused, professional service. This is a hands-on role with real responsibility and room to grow.
What We're Looking For:
1-3 years in a high-volume kitchen, with some leadership experience Confident across grill, sauté, oven, and garde manger Comfortable working a station while supporting the team around you Strong fundamentals, solid knife skills, and good instincts during service Reliable, organized, and able to keep composure under pressure Clear communication and a team-first mindset
What You'll Do:
Support the Executive Chef in running the line and keeping things on track Help ensure food is consistent, well-executed, and sent out with care Step in where needed, whether that means covering a station or assisting another cook Train and support line cooks to keep the team sharp and improving Oversee prep and make sure the kitchen is set up for a smooth service Maintain a clean, organized workspace and uphold kitchen standards Bonus Points for: Previous Sous Chef or strong line cook experience in a busy NYC restaurant Culinary school or formal training Experience with ordering, inventory, basic kitchen admin, and NYC hospitality labor laws
