Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sushi Chef to join our vibrant culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing authentic and innovative sushi dishes that delight our guests and elevate their dining experience. Your expertise in sushi preparation, knife skills, and understanding of Japanese culinary traditions will be essential in creating visually stunning and delicious offerings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your creativity and mastery of sushi artistry in a dynamic restaurant environment. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese-inspired dishes with precision and artistry Maintain high standards of cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene in all food preparation areas Develop new sushi recipes and presentation techniques to keep menus fresh and engaging Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood, rice, seaweed, and other supplies Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely service and consistent quality across all dishes Educate team members on sushi techniques, presentation standards, and culinary best practices Monitor food costs and minimize waste while maintaining exceptional quality standards Qualifications Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role in a fast-paced restaurant setting Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and Japanese culinary traditions Experience working with seafood, including handling raw fish safely and efficiently Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene practices Creativity in developing new sushi recipes and presentation styles Excellent teamwork, communication skills, and ability to work under pressure Formal culinary training or certification in Japanese cuisine or related field is preferred Join us to craft memorable dining experiences through your mastery of sushi artistry!
