As the go-to caterer for events in the Greater Dayton, OH area for over 50 years, Kohler Catering has built an unmatched reputation for producing distinctive events and providing high quality handcrafted fare that is creative and delicious.
Position Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and qualified Executive Chef who will be responsible for assisting in the food production at onsite and offsite premises and who will maintain the highest professional standards for food quality and sanitation. In addition, the Executive Chef will assist in the supervision of kitchen staff, contribute to the development of menus, food purchase specifications, maintaining food storage organization, and food inventory counts.
Responsibilities:
Assist in scheduling and coordinating the work of chefs, cooks and other kitchen employees to assure food preparation is technically correct, and within the budgeted labor cost goals. Cooks or directly supervises the cooking of items that require skillful preparation. Ensures all standards are in place for proper cleaning of kitchen equipment such as vent hoods, tables, carts, ovens, grills, etc. Evaluates food products to assure quality standards are consistently attained. Provide, develop, train, and maintain a professional workforce. Accurately take inventory, food orders, make proper schedules, hold monthly meetings, communicate with other departments, and to be available to all staff at all times.
Qualifications:
5 years Chef experience in Catering Minimum 2-year Culinary Degree or equivalent work experience Time management skills Menu development experience preferred
