Job Description

High-volume restaurant near Allentown looking to hire a Sous Chef with a passion for providing exceptional menu items, giving our guests a memorable experience. This salaried position requires availability for days, evenings and weekends. Candidate must have 5 years of kitchen experience in a fine dining environment. Culinary degree preferred. Must have reliable transportation. Responsibilities Assist in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation standards. Supervise kitchen staff during shifts, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality output. Oversee food safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations throughout kitchen. Coordinate menu planning and assist with inventory management, including stock control and ordering supplies to minimize waste. Manage shift schedules and delegate tasks effectively to optimize productivity and maintain a positive team environment. Skills Extensive experience in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen management in an upscale dining environment. Strong leadership skills to manage and teach team members. Knowledge of food safety standards, inventory control, and food handling procedures. Experience with creating and implementing new menu items and training staff in item presentation Excellent communication skills combined with the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment.
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
