Sous Chef Position Summary We are seeking a talented and driven Sous Chef to join our culinary leadership team. The Sous Chef works closely with the Executive Chef to manage daily kitchen operations, lead and mentor staff, and ensure every dish meets our high standards of quality and presentation. This is an exciting opportunity to grow in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen steeped in history and excellence. Sous Chef Key Responsibilities Assist in overseeing all kitchen operations, including service and prep Supervise and support line cooks and prep team members Ensure consistency and quality across all dishes and stations
• Open and close the kitchen as needed Lead by example during service and maintain a positive team environment Monitor and maintain kitchen cleanliness, safety, and food handling standards Assist with scheduling, training, and inventory management Collaborate with the Executive Chef on specials, events, and menu development Requirements 5+ years of experience in a high-volume or fine dining kitchen, including leadership roles Strong understanding of cooking techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety practices Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed ServSafe certification preferred Must be authorized to work in the United States What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience Medical, dental, and vision insurance Paid vacation Participation in 401k plan Uniforms provided 20% employee discount If you are passionate about creating memorable dining experiences and have the expertise to lead our kitchen operations, we invite you to apply today and become part of our storied tradition at the William Penn Inn!
