Assistant Chef at 4 Star Pittsburgh Inn The Gather Company Pittsburgh, PA Job Details Part-time | Full-time $18 - $22 an hour 1 day ago Benefits Paid time off 401(k) matching Qualifications Food production Food handling Food hygiene Cooking High school diploma or GED Food safety Full Job Description Full-Time Chef at a 4 Star dynamic Inn Located in the heart of Shadyside, our charming inn offers elegant four-star accommodations and exceptional hospitality for guests visiting Pittsburgh. We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and creative Full-Time Assistant Chef (part time would be considered) to join our team and help create memorable dining experiences through breakfast service, traditional afternoon tea, and special events. This position at our Inn offers a special opportunity to be part of an exciting hospitality company, The Gather Company. Work closely with our Executive Chef, and be part of a wonderful and creative culinary atmosphere dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will be trained to work at two properties, The Inn on Negley (Shadyside) and Boggs mansion (Northside Mexican war streets).
Responsibilities:
Prepare and serve daily breakfast for inn guests Plan and prepare menus for afternoon high tea service, including baked goods, tea sandwiches, desserts, and specialty items Prepare meals and catering for special events, private parties, weddings, and holiday gatherings Prepare bakery items, quick breads, savory dishes, and sweets Create seasonal menus and daily specials using fresh, high-quality ingredients Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and guest satisfaction Ensure kitchen cleanliness and organization at all times Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations Manage food inventory, ordering, and kitchen supplies Work closely with inn management and staff to provide outstanding guest service Assist with event planning and food preparation schedulesQualifications:
Previous chef or professional cooking experience preferred Experience with breakfast service, baking, tea service, or event catering is highly desirable Experience preparing bakery items, quick breads, savory foods, and desserts preferred Reliable transportation or personal vehicle preferred Flexible schedule with availability from approximately 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM Weekend and holiday availability required Ability to stand for extended periods and perform bending, lifting, and carrying of 20-30 lbs Ability to read and follow recipe guidelines and preparation techniques accurately Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standardsBenefits:
