Full-Time Position Summary The University Club of Providence is seeking a skilled, dependable, and motivated Chef de Partie to join our culinary team. The Chef de Partie is responsible for the daily preparation and execution of food within an assigned station while maintaining the Club's standards for quality, consistency, presentation, cleanliness, and organization. This position works closely with the Chef de Cuisine and the rest of the culinary team to support à la carte dining, private events, member functions, and special events. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, works with a strong sense of urgency, communicates well with the team, and understands the importance of consistency in a member-focused private club environment. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Prepare, cook, and properly execute menu items according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards. Set up, maintain, and break down an assigned station for daily service. Ensure all mise en place is completed accurately and on time for à la carte and banquet service. Maintain consistent quality, seasoning, portioning, and presentation. Assist with preparation and execution of private events, club functions, and special menus. Communicate effectively with the Chef de Cuisine and culinary team regarding preparation, inventory, product needs, and service. Maintain proper food storage, labeling, dating, rotation, and sanitation practices. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards. Help monitor product quality and minimize unnecessary waste. Properly care for kitchen equipment, smallwares, and work areas. Maintain a clean, organized, and professional workstation throughout the shift. Assist other stations and members of the culinary team when necessary. Receive and properly store products as needed. Participate in daily and weekly cleaning and kitchen maintenance. Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Club standards. Perform additional culinary duties as assigned by the Chef de Cuisine or Executive Chef. Qualifications Previous professional cooking experience required; experience as a line cook, Chef de Partie, or similar position preferred. Strong fundamental cooking skills and understanding of classical and contemporary techniques. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to follow recipes, specifications, and direction while maintaining consistency. Dependable, punctual, and able to take ownership of an assigned station. Professional attitude and willingness to learn and grow. Knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures. Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events as required. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and work for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry up to approximately 50 pounds. Ability to work safely around hot equipment, open flames, sharp tools, and refrigerated areas.
