Job Description

Pastry Cook — Straight Wharf Restaurant, Nantucket (now through mid-October) Straight Wharf Restaurant on Nantucket is looking for a pastry cook to join us from now through mid-October. We're a busy, seasonal fine-dining restaurant turning 50 this year, and a kitchen that still runs like it has something to prove. You'd be working alongside our chef on daily prep and production, plated desserts, and a serious (obsessive?) homemade ice cream lineup. You're probably a great fit for us if you are hard working, love the craft, thrive under pressure, and have strong (borderline) feelings about ice cream, and are looking to sharpen your skills.
We need someone who can:
Execute daily pastry prep and production, consistently and cleanly Plate desserts on service with care and speed Spin, batch, and track our ice creams and sorbets Keep the pastry station organized and up to standard We are looking for: Solid pastry fundamentals — restaurant or bakery experience preferred Someone reliable who shows up, takes direction well, and sweats the details Curiosity and a seasonal sensibility are a big plus Fifty years is a long time to keep the standards high. Come help us keep them there. We offer excellent pay, a kitchen tip program, and an end-of-season bonus. We also have highly-subsidized housing.
Pay:
$1,200.00 - $1,350.00 per week
