Job Description
Sky Chefs is seeking a Sous Chef to support our high-volume inflight catering operations for major airlines worldwide. This role assists the Executive Chef in planning and executing daily production, ensuring all meals meet strict airline, safety, and presentation standards. The Sous Chef leads kitchen teams, coordinates with operations and logistics to meet tight flight schedules, and upholds rigorous food safety and HACCP protocols. Ideal candidates bring strong high-volume culinary experience, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-focused environment committed to quality and reliability. Responsibilities Support Executive Chef in planning and preparing high-volume airline catering menus Oversee daily kitchen operations, food production, and plating to airline specifications Monitor food safety, sanitation, and HACCP compliance in all preparation areas Coordinate with logistics and operations teams to meet strict flight departure timelines Train, mentor, and schedule kitchen staff to maintain productivity and quality standards Control waste, portioning, and inventory to support cost and quality targets Ensure consistency of taste, presentation, and special meal requirements across airlines Collaborate with airline customers and internal teams on menu changes and service improvements Required Skills Menu production for large-scale catering Hot and cold food preparation Food safety, sanitation, and HACCPHigh-volume kitchen operations Staff supervision and scheduling Inventory and portion control Time and workflow management Quality control and plating standards Knife skills and culinary techniques Coordination with logistics/operations
