New Italian restaurant opening in river oaks district We are hiring a pasta chef that has experience making fresh pasta from scratch Ravioli Tortellini Tortolloni pasta Fettuccine Malfadine pasta Pasta chef must have experience in making high quality fresh pasta To apply send us your resume and send us your photo of fresh made pasta to be considered for this position Job Summary We're looking for a passionate and skilled Fresh Pasta Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting delicious, handmade pasta dishes that elevate our menu and delight our guests. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation, kitchen management, and fine dining standards, with a love for Italian cuisine and pasta artistry. This position offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a lively, supportive environment. Responsibilities Prepare and make fresh pasta from scratch, ensuring quality and consistency in every dish. Stuffed pasta ravioli, tortellini, pappardelli, spaghetti. Develop and refine pasta recipes in collaboration with the head chef, maintaining authentic Italian standards. Oversee the entire pasta production process, including dough mixing, rolling, shaping, and cooking. Manage inventory of ingredients specific to pasta making, including flour, eggs, and specialty items. Supervise kitchen staff involved in pasta preparation, providing guidance on techniques and safety protocols. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pasta station, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pasta dishes or variations to enhance the dining experience. Qualifications Proven experience in food production or culinary roles within fine dining or Italian restaurants. Strong knowledge of pasta-making techniques and traditional Italian recipes. Supervising or team management experience in a kitchen setting is preferred. Familiarity with inventory control, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members effectively. Experience with banquet service or catering is a plus but not required. Passion for culinary arts and continuous learning about food preparation and hospitality trends.
