Full Job Description Overview :
Under the direction of the Showroom Chef, the Sous Chef will perform the duties outlined below for the culinary programs at the BSH Experience & Design Center.Responsibilities :
Prepares and organizes demonstration tools & food in advance. Ensuring that foods are prepared on schedule. Demonstrates high level and volume of quality food production. Assists with inventory/ordering of food purchasing, waste measurement and documentation, storage, preparation and service with regard to quality, quantity and safety. Prepares purchasing lists, receives food delivery, reviews deliveries, labels and properly stores. Follows the prep and task lists created by the chef. Maintains a high level of food quality and efficient production output, with the aim of exceeding our guests' expectations Executes culinary production within the context of our appliances' value propositions Assists in creating recipes that can be given to guests and that can be duplicated for future programs or events. Professionally presents to educate and inform guests for the use of our showroom appliances. Ensures the security of all foods for proper storage Complies with sanitation guidelines; Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash etc. Fosters and contributes to a positive team spirit and collaborative mind-set at all times. Maintains professionalism in interaction with guests. Daily opening and closing tasks supporting operation of showroom. Maintains professional appearance and demeanor at all times in accordance with company dress standards. Other duties as assigned by the Showroom Chef.Core Competencies Required :
Formal Culinary training or similar experience in Culinary arts excellence. Takes direction carefully and thoughtfully; reads and follows recipes Knowledge of kitchen health and safety rules; preferred ServSafe or other certified food handler certification. Comfortable presenting basic to moderate culinary presentations to small to large groups Strong understanding of food preparation Experience in high volume food production and quality preparation Demonstrates a desire to learn and support products/brands Ability to multi-task Must demonstrate good judgment and discretion when exposed to confidential information Effective and clear presentation and demonstration skills Excellent verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills. Strong active listening skills. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and empathy. Strong organizational, time management, and appointment management skills. Ability to coach and train guest and hospitality staff. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Effective problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Strong professionalism and ability to represent the organization positively. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Responds promptly and flexibly to changing requirements Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Willingness to work operational hours as scheduled, including evening and weekend hours.Schedule:
Partial Full Time- This position requires approximately 32-40 hours per week , depending on business needs.
