Dinner service only / Open 4 days per week Job Description We are seeking a hands-on Assistant Sous Chef to join our kitchen team in a small, high-standard dinner restaurant. This is not a purely administrative management role. This position is for someone who is ready to work the line, support prep, help lead service, and uphold exceptional standards of cleanliness, organization, and execution every day. The right candidate takes real pride in maintaining a clean, disciplined kitchen and understands that great service begins with strong prep, sanitation, station readiness, and follow-through. This role requires someone who can lead by example, stay calm under pressure, and work side by side with the team to ensure consistency in food quality, cleanliness, and service execution. We are also looking for someone who can work effectively and respectfully within a bilingual kitchen environment . Spanish-speaking ability is a plus, but most important is the ability to communicate clearly, support the team, and help create a culture of professionalism, accountability, and mutual respect. Responsibilities Work the line during service and assist with prep on a daily basis Help maintain exceptional standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and organization throughout the kitchen Ensure stations are fully stocked, properly labeled, clean, and service-ready Support strong execution during service with urgency, focus, and attention to detail Reinforce standards for food quality, storage, rotation, and daily kitchen discipline Assist with prep lists, pars, station setup, and kitchen flow Help train and support team members through clear communication and hands-on leadership Work collaboratively with a bilingual team in a respectful and professional manner Lead by example in cleanliness, consistency, accountability, and work ethic Qualifications Strong line cooking experience required Prior leadership experience in a kitchen preferred Highly organized, dependable, and detail-oriented Strong understanding of sanitation, food safety, and kitchen systems Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-standard service environment Able to communicate clearly and work effectively with a bilingual team Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required Must be willing to be fully hands-on in prep and service Why This Role Stands Out Dinner-only restaurant Currently open 4 days per week Opportunity to be part of a small, ambitious, quality-driven kitchen High standards, thoughtful food, and a team-focused environment
