Job Description

Role We are seeking a passionate and experienced Executive Pastry Chef to join our culinary team at Amangiri. Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Executive Pastry Chef oversees all dessert and pastry production for the property's dining venues, events, and banquets. This leader is responsible for crafting exceptional pastries that reflect innovation, precision, and an elevated guest experience—while managing a dedicated team and ensuring consistency, creativity, and quality in every detail. Responsibilities Develop and design innovative pastry and dessert menus aligned with Amangiri's culinary philosophy. Oversee preparation, baking, and presentation of high-quality desserts and baked goods. Lead, train, and mentor the pastry team, ensuring high standards and smooth operations. Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other departments to support cohesive dining experiences. Maintain inventory, manage ordering, and monitor cost controls to meet budget goals. Ensure all pastry kitchen practices meet food safety and sanitation regulations. Customize menus to accommodate dietary needs, seasonal availability, and guest preferences. Support event operations and align offerings with banquet and a la carte services. Uphold exceptional cleanliness and organization in all pastry workspaces. Stay current on pastry trends and integrate modern techniques to enhance offerings. Requirements
  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional training in pastry arts.
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role within a high-volume pastry kitchen.
  • Mastery of both modern and classical baking techniques.
  • Strong leadership, delegation, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in menu planning, costing, and inventory control.
  • Knowledge of industry-standard food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods in a fast-paced environment.
