In this role, you will craft authentic and visually stunning sushi dishes, ensuring each plate meets our high standards of quality, presentation, and freshness. Your expertise will help create an inviting dining experience that delights our guests and showcases the artistry of Japanese cuisine. The ideal candidate is energetic, detail-oriented, and dedicated to culinary excellence, with a strong background in sushi preparation and a flair for creativity. Duties Prepare a variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry Maintain the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness in all kitchen areas Develop innovative sushi recipes and presentation techniques to enhance menu offerings Manage ingredient inventory, ensuring freshness and proper storage of seafood and other supplies Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations and timely service Educate junior staff on sushi techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards Assist in menu planning and contribute ideas for seasonal or special dishes Requirements Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a fast-paced culinary environment Extensive knowledge of sushi preparation techniques, including fish filleting, rice cooking, and knife skills Strong understanding of food safety regulations and sanitation practices Ability to develop new recipes and adapt traditional sushi styles creatively Experience working with seafood and handling raw ingredients safely Excellent classroom management skills for training junior staff or conducting culinary demonstrations Background in culinary arts with specialization in Japanese cuisine or related fields preferred Experience teaching or mentoring others in arts such as choreography, dance instruction, or visual arts is a plus Familiarity with culinary tools, including knives, rice cookers, and sushi rolling mats Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Passion for culinary innovation combined with a commitment to quality and presentation
