$19.83 - $22.53 PER
HOUR GENERAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels of all chef-prepared products in the kitchen, in addition to educating and training other chefs and prep cooks. This person will be preparing and packaging salads, entrees, soups, and hot case items, receiving and stocking product, determining production and inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the kitchen provides Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the kitchen Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items Ensures the kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance Delivers excellent customer service to all customers Prepares all chef-prepared items in the kitchen including salads, entrees, soups, hot case items, etc. following Harmons' recipes Prepares food for special orders and events Receiving and stocking of product Trains chefs and prep cooks Writing production sheets based on department needs and past and projected sales Responsible for inventory and ordering product for the kitchen Provides honest, direct, and constant feedback to associates regarding their performance and areas of improvement Assists as needed to ensure the success of the kitchen as a whole

TRAINING & QUALIFICATIONS

Desired knowledge, skills, and abilities: A high school diploma or GED preferred; two-year college or technical school degree preferred; one year of kitchen experience preferred; or any combination of education, experience, and training which provides the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Current Food Handler's Permit Must enjoy working with and handling kitchen products Should have a passion for preparing, cooking, and eating food particularly kitchen items Ability to use good judgment and to make decisions quickly and independently Have a wide range of knowledge in food, ingredients, knife skills, and cooking techniques Ability to read and follow a recipe Basic math skills used to double or half a recipe Ability to interpret policies and procedures Excellent organization and planning skills Must possess solid communication skills, including verbal and listening skills to communicate with customers and fellow associates effectively and efficiently Ability to handle conflict professionally and appropriately Must possess the ability to accept constructive review and be accountable for one's own success as well as the success of your team Required to make logical, significant decisions using general, recognized skills and techniques Must possess integrity, a positive attitude, be mission-driven, and be self-directed with a demonstrated passion for Harmons' mission and commitment to working collaboratively Continually strives to be product minded, customer minded, personnel minded, detailed, forward focused, and consistent Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays
