In this role, you will craft beautifully presented, high-quality sushi dishes that delight our guests and elevate our restaurant's reputation. Your expertise in traditional and innovative sushi techniques will inspire both your colleagues and customers alike. Duties Prepare a wide variety of sushi, sashimi, and other Japanese dishes with precision and artistry, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation Develop new sushi recipes and menu items that reflect current trends while honoring traditional techniques Manage ingredient freshness by sourcing and inspecting seafood, rice, vegetables, and other supplies regularly Maintain cleanliness and organization of the sushi station in compliance with health and safety regulations Educate and mentor junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques, knife skills, and presentation standards Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure smooth kitchen operations during service hours Assist in inventory management by tracking supplies and minimizing waste through efficient usage Experience Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or similar role within a fast-paced restaurant environment Strong knowledge of Japanese cuisine, especially sushi preparation techniques including rolling, slicing, and plating Familiarity with food safety standards and proper handling of raw seafood Experience in developing new recipes or menu items to attract diverse customer preferences Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail Culinary training or certification in Japanese cuisine or related field is preferred Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and guests We value energetic professionals eager to showcase their culinary talents in a lively setting.
