Echelon Wine Bar is located in historic downtown Leesburg and was founded by the owners of Lost Creek Winery. Our 3,200 sq ft space features a tasting bar, lounge seating, a 1,200-bottle glass cellar, private dining space, and a scratch kitchen focused on seasonal, farm-driven tapas. We offer over 150 wines from around the world, along with educational programming including Wine & Spirits Education Trust (WSET) courses and monthly wine classes for guests.

Position Overview:
Echelon Wine Bar is seeking a Sous Chef to support our Executive Chef in daily kitchen operations. This is an ideal role for a strong line cook or emerging leader looking to grow into a sous chef position in a focused, small-team environment. This role is hands-on and service-driven, with opportunities to learn ordering, prep systems, and menu development over time.
What We Offer:
Dinner service only (no brunch or lunch shifts) No doubles or all-day shifts (except for special events time to time) Team-oriented kitchen with direct collaboration with the Executive Chef Stable, professional, low-drama work environment
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef with daily prep and dinner service Work the line and help ensure smooth, consistent execution Maintain cleanliness, organization, and food quality standards Support prep, inventory, and ordering as needed Assist with execution of wine dinners and private events Contribute ideas to seasonal menu items as you grow in the role
Ideal Candidate:
Previous sous chef experience (1-3 years experience preferred) Organized, reliable, and able to work independently in a small team Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow Comfortable in a hands-on, fast-paced kitchen environment Interest in food and wine pairing is a plus
Requirements:
Evening and weekend availability Ability to work efficiently and calmly during service ServSafe certification (preferred) Culinary training or equivalent experience (preferred)
