Job Description
Chef de Cuisine — Joon (Tysons Corner, VA) Joon is an elevated modern Persian restaurant in Tysons Corner — New York Times Top 50, Washingtonian readers' Best Restaurant in Virginia, and a 2026 RAMMY finalist for Upscale Casual Restaurant of the Year. We're looking for a Chef de Cuisine to run our kitchen day to day and help push the food program forward. What you'll do Own daily kitchen execution: line performance, ticket times, plate consistency, station standards Lead, schedule, and develop the BOH team; hold the standard on cleanliness and food safety Manage ordering, inventory, prep pars, and waste; hit food cost and labor targets Partner on menu development, seasonal changes, and R D for à la carte, restaurant week, and private events Work closely with ownership and our executive chef on the direction of the program What we're looking for 3+ years as a CDC or strong Sous ready to step up, in a high-volume, quality-driven kitchen Comfort with scratch cooking, whole-animal and produce-forward prep Real numbers literacy — you can read a P&L line and adjust Curiosity about Persian and Middle Easter cuisine; direct experience not required, respect for it is ServSafe certified or willing to certify; bilingual English/Spanish a plus What we offer $80,000-$85,000 salary, plus up to $20,000 in incentive bases bonuses. Our BOH Leaders qualified for a $5,000 bonus in the second quarter of this year. PTO and dining comps Closed Mondays — a real day off, plus a second day off that is typically on Tuesday.
