Twelve Baskets Catering is looking for a Executive Chef to join our awesome team! The Executive Chef is an integral part of the Culinary Team at Twelve Baskets Catering, providing culinary support to the Director of Catering. This position will handle a variety of tasks as delegated by the Director of Catering, including being responsible for overseeing the daily functions of Culinary and the team members of the culinary team.
Core Responsibilities:
Customer Service - Engage with customers by providing quality service and products by producing their food efficiently, safely and on-time. Carry a friendly, energetic, personable demeanor and passion for great customer service, with a customer-first mentality. Demonstrates that customers come first by serving them with sense of urgency.
Operational Excellence:
Oversee all kitchen staff by guiding and directing their actions to execute in the best possible manner Train all new kitchen employees utilizing the tools provided and by teaching best practices. Train and mentor existing kitchen staff for growth. Conduct bi-annual performance reviews Conduct hiring, disciplinary and termination of all kitchen employees in accordance with guidelines set forth by Director of Catering Manage inventories of product for food, disposable goods, and cleaning chemical needs and placing orders according to guidelines set forth by Director of Catering Develop menus and recipes, including full costing in collaboration with Director of Catering, and Sous Chef Develop systems to help kitchen run efficiently with direction from Director of Catering Operations and other kitchen management. Maintain required food safety logs, prep sheets, waste logs, menu requests, BEO's and kitchen staff schedules Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all kitchen related equipment and areas of the building. Respond to daily changes in volume Interact with guests to ensure guest satisfaction and provide hospitable customer service Finish various dishes to be served on catered events and tastings in the proper amounts and at the safe food holding temperatures Cook and finish foods within the necessary guidelines set forth by the Director of Catering Maintain quantities and appearance of food on all events and tastings In all interactions, operate in alignment with the company's values of respect, integrity, active communication, responsibility and value Perform additional projects/duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
Task-oriented attitude to efficiently perform the job at hand Basic Microsoft Office Suite knowledge Excellent time management skills and positive attitude Ability to work quickly and efficiently under pressure Ability to lift up to 40 pounds MUST have strong attention to detail Self-motivating and flexible Ability to build relationships and work in a team environment Ability to work under the direction of others Ability to direct others in a positive manner Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, changing environment Previous experience working in a kitchen management roll: 6 years is preferred Previous leadership experience: 5 plus years preferred Must have a Food Handler permit at the time of hire ServSafe Manager Certification preferred MAST certification required within 30 days To be a successful
