This is not a direct care or case management role, but a unique community-facing position that blends hospitality, resource navigation, and inclusive community building. The Concierge plays a vital role in promoting housing stability, dignity, and connection for all residents. Key Responsibilities Resident Onboarding & Orientation
  • Welcome new residents with personalized orientations.
  • Support understanding of lease agreements, building policies, and community resources.
  • Collaborate with families, natural supports, and service providers to ensure smooth transitions. Ongoing Resident Engagement
  • Conduct regular check-ins with residents who opt in or have identified support needs.
  • Maintain a consistent, approachable presence in common areas.
  • Partner with site staff to anticipate and support resident needs. Community Programming & Inclusion
  • Coordinate inclusive on-site programming with local partners (e.g., art workshops, cooking classes, guided discussions).

  • Maintain an up-to-date hub of quality service providers in the community.
  • Assist residents in building and sustaining personal Circles of Support.
  • Facilitate collaboration with case managers, without duplicating services. Emergency & Wellness Coordination
  • Partner with property management on wellness checks and emergency planning tailored to individual needs.
  • Help identify and respond to early signs of resident distress.
  • Connect residents to trauma-informed and culturally responsive care when needed. Collaboration with Property Management
  • Serve as a liaison to help navigate resident/property issues where appropriate.
  • Support equitable communication and policy awareness.
  • Help mediate issues early to prevent housing instability or eviction.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will bring a genuine passion for inclusive housing, neurodiversity, and building supportive, welcoming communities. Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD), older adults, or others with diverse support needs is highly valued. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to build trust and navigate relationships across a wide range of backgrounds. While familiarity with local human services, disability rights, and fair housing laws is a plus, training will be provided. Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are encouraged to apply, though it is not a requirement. Candidates must have a driver's license and be comfortable occasionally driving a passenger van to transport residents to community events. Training Provided The Concierge will receive comprehensive training to ensure they are well-equipped to support the unique needs of The Grove community. This includes instruction in disability inclusion and person-centered practices, trauma-informed care and communication, cultural humility and diversity awareness, and the rights of residents under fair housing laws. The training is designed to build both confidence and competence in fostering a respectful, inclusive, and empowering environment for all residents. Ongoing support and professional development opportunities will also be available. Desired Attributes The Resident Concierge should be an empathetic listener and creative problem-solver, with a strong commitment to equity, inclusion, and resident empowerment. This role requires someone who is approachable, reliable, and comfortable engaging with both individuals and groups in a community setting. The ideal candidate is skilled at building trust, fostering connection, and navigating sensitive situations or difficult conversations with care and professionalism. A strengths-based mindset and the ability to see every resident as a valued contributor to community life are essential for success in this role. Program Values
  • Resident input informs program design, activities, and community priorities.
  • All on-site activities are open and welcoming to every resident.
  • Residents decide how and when to participate.
  • Strong relationships are the foundation of a thriving community.
  • Every interaction supports autonomy and independence. Measuring Success
  • Positive resident feedback and engagement
  • Reduced housing turnover and lease violations
  • Documented connections to community resources and support
  • Increased participation in inclusive events
  • Resident stories reflecting connection, stability, and growth
