Job Description

Resident Support Specialist are responsible for developing individualized crisis management plans and providing immediate support and stabilization. Essential Functions and Responsibilities Respond to crisis calls and assess the situation promptly and efficiently. Collaborates with clinical staff (Core and Nursing) Provide immediate support to individuals in crisis, including stabilization. Develop crisis management plans tailored to the needs of the individual. Document all interventions and interactions accurately. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals and service providers as needed. Follow up with clients to ensure their ongoing safety and wellbeing. Participate in ongoing training and professional Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Compassionate and patient with a strong desire to help others. Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations. RSS engage in direct communication with the individuals, trying to de-escalate the situation, while evaluating the severity of the crisis. RSS assist in developing a plan of action to help manage and mitigate the crisis. Has the ability to develop an immediate rapport with youth. May be asked to transport residents to Emergency Department Must be twenty-one (21) years of age or older, maintain a current/ valid driver's license, be able to pass a criminal records/ background check, be able to pass a drug screen, must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent, and be physically and emotionally fit to perform the job duties. Education Requirements 1. High School Diploma or equivalent Additional Eligibility Qualifications 1. Proficiency in a mental health/human services agency. 2. Proficiency in working with children, adolescents, and their families 3. Basic computer skills, including familiarity with using the internet and Microsoft Word 4. Able to travel locally and transport clients.
