The Concierge provides an exceptional first impression through direct contact with customers, while exhibiting knowledgeable and welcoming service for visitors, residents and associates. Shift days and hours may vary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Functions:
  • Answers and directs telephone calls to residents and various departments of the organization in a friendly and timely manner. (PHI) Monitors fire alarm system and responds to alarm, notifying Residents Services Assistants (RSA) or maintenance and Schaumburg Fire Department dispatcher of exact location in the village.
  • Monitors emergency response system and coordinates response with RSA for Residential Living and Assisted Living and EMS if appropriate. (PHI) Monitors CCTV to verify identity and authorizes entry of individuals, and notifies RSA of questionable matters.
  • Screens visitors in the lobby area (via TV monitors and telephone) 24/7.
  • Maintains log of noteworthy events and security cylinder log each shift, and updates directories and keeps other records as assigned. (PHI)
  • Sorts mail for delivery as needed.
(PHI) Provides greeter service at the Hospitality Desk. Directing visitors to appropriate department or person. Supports safety and security of the facility by monitoring visitors, ensuring that former employees, persons soliciting, and other non-appropriate visitors do not gain building access. Supports marketing endeavors by promptly notifying marketing staff of inquiries and visitors, and providing printed materials to visitors as appropriate. Supports HR functions by showing the Career Opportunities list to prospective employees, providing and/or receiving employment applications. Supports the EVS Volunteer program by providing applications to potential volunteers, receiving applications and notifying staff of volunteer presence. Controls Daily Point of Sale Operations and maintains accurate drawer counts. Take guest room reservations, events and trip sign-ups. Provides answers to questions that are not readily available to them. Provides various postal services for residents, associates and guests (FedEx, UPS, USPS) Assist Valet team with various valet requests Create, maintain work order data entry and dispatch appropriate maintenance personnel in compliance with the policy. Coordinates game equipment usage. Coordinates pool and fitness access and key control for residents and associates in compliance with policy. Notifies family members about resident hospitalizations upon emergency or death. Coordinates massive phone notification to appropriate individuals upon disaster; power outage, tornado, fire, etc. in compliance with the policy and EVS Disaster Plan.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Physical Activities:
Constantly talking, hearing, and sitting. Occasionally standing, walking, bending, squatting, reaching, and twisting.
Range of Motion:
Occasionally being able to move from shoulder and above; waist to shoulder; and waist and below height.
Weight Lifting Requirements:
Occasionally being able to lift up to 25 lbs. Vision Requirements Occasionally being able to look at the computer monitor, utilize color vision (identifying and distinguishing colors), peripheral and depth perception, and having the ability to adjust focus.
Environmental Exposure:
Occasionally being exposed to body fluids/blood.
Experience:
Two years work experience that includes meeting public, answering phones, and providing customer service. Experience in working with older adults preferred. Proficiency with basic computer word processing and Outlook preferred. Knowledge of Word and Excel a plus.
